Drawing in the manner of performance can be different, and the tasks of drawing differ from each other, if for some artists it is an auxiliary material for painting or creative painting, for others it can be an independent work and a work of art.
In addition, it is customary to divide drawing into two types – tonal and linear. Of course, the choice of one or another type depends on the artistic preferences of the master, but in the academic manner it has always been customary to draw in full tone. The line is inherently light and effortless, but one must grow toward this lightness.

Where We Start
Each person has their own level of skill.
Someone can start at once with an antique plaster, someone from human nature.
However, our drawing courses are also designed for those who start from scratch.
A full course of academic drawing begins with simple geometrical figures like a sphere, a cube, a cone. On these we learn to display perspective and volumes.
This is followed by plaster face parts and drawings of ancient sculptures. In these classes, drawing technique and form clarity are honed.
The final goal is the portrait and plasticity of the person. In addition to a high level of technique, this work requires special skills. You will learn to feel and grasp the plasticity and character of a person. Increase your knowledge of anatomy.
How long is the course
Practice shows that you can put a hand and learn the basics of drawing technique within a year. That’s the time it usually takes applicants to prepare for exams, but that’s assuming that the person already had some baggage of knowledge.
Mastery is honed in art academies for 5 – 6 years. Professionals have to maintain and improve their skills throughout their lives.
Everything depends on a person’s individual needs.
During a year of studying on the course of academic drawing you will pass the plaster studies, work with masks and plaster heads and already be able to work with a portrait of a person, and this is already worth a lot!
